I mosaici dell’ex Centrale del Latte di Milano (1998)

To celebrate the seventieth anniversary of the Centrale del Latte in Milan in 1998, twenty-eight celebratory mosaics were created to mark the occasion and transform the surrounding urban landscape. Composed of over eighteen thousand polychrome tiles, the artworks were originally placed along the perimeter wall of the Centrale. At the time, with a linear extension of one hundred and twenty metres, they constituted the longest mosaic in Europe, not only serving as a decorative intervention, but also as a true sign of identity in the fabric of the city. Today, these mosaics can be seen in Parco Ravizza, having been relocated as part of a major project.
